1. Accelerate Softly: Gently press down on the gas pedal; the harder you press, the more fuel you’ll use. Accelerate smoothly and take about five seconds to bring your vehicle up to 10 mph from a standstill. 
2. Plan Ahead for Traffic: Sitting in stop-and-go traffic isn’t fuel-efficient and it can put mechanical stress on your car’s drivetrain. Avoid rush hour traffic by leaving at least 15 minutes early, and try finding a shortcut to reach your destination without any hassle. 
3. Avoid High Speeds: Cars use more fuel when driving at higher speeds. To achieve excellent fuel-efficient driving habits, keep your speed between 55 and 65 mph (remember to always follow the speed limit).
4. Coast to a Stop: Instead of constantly applying the brakes, look at the road ahead.
